Little Lantern LLC ("Little Lantern," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Little Lantern bedtime story service available at littlelantern.com. We are committed to protecting your family's privacy.

Account information: Your email address and password (stored as a secure hash — we never see your actual password).
Child profile information: Your child's name, age, pronouns, interests, pet name and type, best friend's name, favourite place, and any challenges you choose to share. This information is provided voluntarily and is used exclusively to generate personalized stories.
Daily updates: Optional daily notes you submit about your child's day. These are used to personalize that evening's story and are stored in your story archive.
Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment processing.
Usage data: Basic information about how you use the service — login times, story delivery confirmations, feature usage. This is used to improve the product and is never shared with third parties.
We do not use your child's information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than story generation.
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate Little Lantern:
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption). Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage — we cannot recover your password. Story data and child profiles are stored in a secure database with access restricted to application services only.
Little Lantern is designed for parents managing accounts on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account without parental consent, please contact us immediately at littlelantern.ai@yahoo.com and we will delete the account.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data — including your child's profile, story archive, and account information — is permanently deleted within 30 days. Payment records are retained as required by law for tax purposes.
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
