Little Lantern is a subscription service that sends your child a personalized, original bedtime story every evening. You create a profile for your child — their name, age, what they love, their pet, their best friend — and every night at your chosen bedtime, a brand new story arrives in your inbox starring your child and their world. No two stories are ever the same.

The stories are delivered by email — which means they work on every device, with nothing to download or install. You manage your account and profile through a simple web dashboard that works on any phone, tablet, or computer. The story itself arrives in your inbox at bedtime, ready to read or play immediately.

Yes — completely. The AI uses your child's name, their interests, their pet's name, their best friend's name, their favourite place, and anything you tell us happened that day. The same story is never generated twice for any child. It's the difference between a book from a shelf and a story written specifically because someone knows and loves your child.

Each morning you can add a short note about what happened in your child's world — "won a soccer game," "had a tough day at school," "excited about the class trip tomorrow." That evening's story will weave this in naturally. It takes 30 seconds and makes the story feel like it was written by someone who truly knows your child. It's completely optional, but the stories that use it are the ones parents say their children remember most.

We support children aged 2–12. The AI automatically calibrates the vocabulary, sentence length, and story complexity to match your child's age. A story for a 3-year-old is short, simple, and gentle. A story for a 10-year-old is longer, more adventurous, and uses richer language. You can update the age in your profile anytime and the stories adjust immediately.

Monthly subscribers get one child profile. Premium subscribers ($25/month) can create up to three profiles — each child gets their own story every night, with their own interests, their own delivery time, and their own story archive.

You choose your delivery time during signup — anywhere from 6pm to 9pm in your local timezone. The story arrives in your inbox at that time every evening, seven days a week including weekends and holidays. You can change the delivery time anytime from your account settings.

Every story email includes a "skip tonight" link in the footer. One click and tomorrow's story pauses for 24 hours — no login required. At midnight the skip resets automatically, so the following evening's story arrives as normal. Stories you skip are not refunded but the archive saves every generated story, so nothing is lost.

Monthly subscribers receive a beautifully formatted text story, ready to read aloud. Premium subscribers ($25/month) also receive an audio version narrated in a warm, gentle voice — your child can listen while you play it from your phone. We're working on a dedicated listening experience for a future update.

Completely free. Three personalized bedtime stories, no credit card required. After your three free stories, you'll be invited to continue with a subscription — but only if you choose to. We'll never charge you without your explicit confirmation.

One click from your account dashboard, under Billing. No phone call, no cancellation survey, no waiting period. Your subscription ends at the close of your current billing period and you keep access until then. We never make cancelling difficult — if the stories aren't right for your family, we'd rather you leave on good terms.

Yes. From your account settings you can pause your subscription for up to 30 days — no charge during that time, and your child's profile and story archive are preserved. Email us at littlelantern.ai@yahoo.com and we'll handle it within a few hours.

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) via Stripe, which is the same payment processor used by Amazon, Google, and Shopify. We never store your card details — everything is handled securely by Stripe.

We store your child's name, age, interests, and the optional personal details you share (pet name, friend name, favourite place). We store this to generate personalized stories — for no other purpose. We never sell this data, never share it with third parties, and never use it for advertising. You can delete all data associated with your account at any time from your profile settings. See our full privacy policy for details.

Every story is generated with child safety as the primary constraint. Stories avoid all violence, scary content, adult themes, and anything overstimulating before sleep. The AI is specifically prompted to produce warm, gentle, age-appropriate content that ends with the child feeling safe and sleepy. If a story ever doesn't feel right, email us immediately and we'll investigate and replace it.

Yes, the stories are written by AI — specifically Claude, made by Anthropic, one of the leading AI safety companies in the world. The AI is given strict guidelines about content, tone, and age-appropriateness. We review samples regularly and respond to any feedback immediately. Think of it less as "AI" and more as a very skilled, very attentive storyteller who happens to know everything about your child.
